Chestnuts
Chestnuts grow on trees that can grow up to 20 feet tall. It takes 7 years for a tree to reach maturity, and it can produce for up to 40 growing seasons.
Chestnuts grow in spiky shells that protect young growth from foragers and the elements. When the chestnuts are ready they drop from their shells.
After this process is complete, the chestnuts are ready for roasting. They can also be eaten raw or even made into a soup.
